In the forests of Moldavia, a young monk named Platon yearned for deeper communion with God. He sought guidance from elder monks but found their practices often lacked the intensity his soul craved. Through fervent prayer, he stumbled upon the writings of the Church Fathers on the Jesus Prayer. He embraced this practice, repeating "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me," with every breath, his heart ablaze with divine love. Soon, others drawn to his devotion gathered around him, forming a community centered on the Jesus Prayer. He became known as Paisius Velichkovsky.

Lord, may the spirit of #PaisiusVelichkovsky inspire us to unceasing #prayer. Grant us a thirst for divine communion and guide us in the #OrthodoxWay. #Saints #JesusChrist
