Venerable #Sofronie of Cioara, a Romanian Orthodox monk, bravely defended the #OrthodoxFaith and the rights of Romanians in Transylvania during the 18th century, when the Habsburg Empire pressured Orthodox Christians to unite with Rome. He traveled tirelessly, preaching and encouraging people to remain steadfast in their ancestral faith. Arrested for his activities, he was later released and continued his work, becoming a symbol of resistance and spiritual strength.
