Apostle Andrew, brother of Peter, preached the Gospel along the shores of the Black Sea. He traveled far, bringing Christ to many, including lands that would become Romania. Tradition says he ordained the first bishop of Byzantium. He was crucified in Patras on an X-shaped cross, now known as St. Andrew's Cross, for refusing to renounce his faith.

Pray to St. Andrew, that through his intercession, faith may flourish in our hearts and spread to all corners of the world.
