Hieromartyr Irineu, Bishop of Sirmium, refused to offer pagan sacrifices despite Emperor Probus's orders. He was imprisoned and tortured, yet remained steadfast in his faith, converting many. Eventually, he was beheaded for refusing to deny Christ.
