Hieromartyr #Antim the #Ivirian, a Georgian by birth, was Metropolitan of Wallachia. He was a skilled calligrapher, writer, and woodcarver, establishing the first printing press in Bucharest. His efforts brought liturgical books to the people in their own language. Accused of treason through political machinations, he was exiled and murdered on his way to a synod meant to judge him.
