Today we remember Constantin Brâncoveanu and his sons, Stephen, Radu, and Mathew. In 1714, they were captured by the Ottomans. Offered life in exchange for renouncing their Christian faith, they chose martyrdom. Constantin, strengthened by his belief, encouraged his sons to remain steadfast, and they were beheaded in Constantinople on August 15th, the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos. Their unwavering devotion inspires us.
