In the early 16th century, young #Philotheia, lived a life of devotion, giving to the poor. Her stepmother, consumed by jealousy, accused her of disobedience. One day, while bringing food to workers in the field, her stepmother, in a fit of rage, mortally struck her. Before her death, she forgave her murderer. Her relics are now enshrined in the monastery of Curtea de Argeș, Romania.
