In 1959, Fr. Ilarion Felea faced relentless interrogation and torture for refusing to denounce his faith and collaborate with the communist regime. Despite immense pressure, he remained steadfast, declaring, "My conscience does not allow me to betray Christ." He was eventually martyred in the prison, his body bearing the marks of his unwavering commitment to God.
