Venerable #Paraschiva, born in Epivat (present-day Turkey), showed early devotion, giving her clothes to the poor. After her parents' death, she joined a monastery near Constantinople, then sought deeper solitude in the Jordanian desert. An angel instructed her to return to her homeland. She obeyed, living as a beggar and, two years later, died unrecognized in the village of Calicratia. Her relics, discovered due to a divine revelation, emanated a sweet fragrance and performed miracles, drawing pilgrims.
