In Durostorum, Emilian, a young man, served as a secret Christian during a time of persecution. Discovering that idols were being overturned, Emilian confessed he was the one responsible. He was brutally beaten, then sentenced to be burned. As the flames rose, he remained steadfast, offering prayers until his soul departed to God.
