Martyr Dassie, a Roman soldier during Emperor Maximian's reign, was chosen as leader for the Saturnalia festival, a time of pagan revelry. Dassie, secretly a #Christian, refused to wear pagan attire or participate in the sacrilegious acts. He declared his faith openly and was subsequently martyred for refusing to compromise his beliefs.
