During World War II, while still a young monk named Peter, Venerable Paisie was serving in the army as a medical orderly. One day, amidst heavy fighting, he stumbled upon a severely wounded soldier left for dead on the battlefield. Despite the great danger, Peter refused to leave him. He carried the soldier on his back for miles, through enemy fire, until he reached a safe medical encampment. The soldier survived, and Peter’s bravery and compassion became a testament to his unwavering faith and love for his fellow man.

Let us pray to #Paisie that his example inspires us to acts of selfless love. #Saints #OrthodoxChristian #Faith #Prayer #Monk
