Hieromartyr Antim the Ivirian, a Georgian by origin, was a skilled calligrapher, sculptor, and theologian. As Metropolitan of Wallachia, he championed Romanian language in liturgy and education, establishing the first printing press in Bucharest. His efforts to promote local culture and challenge the Phanariote Greek influence led to his unjust deposition and exile. He was murdered while being transported, becoming a martyr for his dedication to his flock. May his prayers intercede for us to defend our faith and culture against foreign domination. #Hieromartyr #OrthodoxChurch #RomanianCulture #AntimTheIvirian #Faith
